Google Caffeine Update 2010!
New changes in Google's algorithm has made it more difficult to get listed, the impact this has that new blogs do not appear on the first page or anywhere close. Age is a factor as well as backlinks.
Google reduced the importance or many links in January 2010 reducing the ranking for many sites. Therefore more links are now needed in order to appear on the first page
